Plan many of your outdoor events early while there aren't as many bugs!

Spring is also known as allergy season and one of the biggest causes of allergies is pollen. So keep an eye on the pollen count if you have bad allergies and plan on staying inside on those spring days with high pollen counts.

When Spring arrives, many people begin Spring Cleaning which always leads to a great number of yard sales. So save some money for the beginning of Spring and capitalize on the great bargains that will come from people cleaning out their home/garage/storage while you enjoy being out in the lovely Spring weather.

Use the return of the warm weather as an excuse to start a new exercise program! Start with a 20 minute walk very evening.

Spring signals the start of many outdoor sports so get out and go enjoy a game. Or, even better, get involved in a spring sports league!

The best way to keep weeds at bay is to have a thick healthy lawn. Clear off old dead leaves and pull weeds by hand whenever possible.

Use mulch to keep weeds under control in flower beds and around shrubs. Just be careful because mulch can attract wood destroying insects!

Get your mower in shape for the season. Change the oil and clean the air filter. You might even want to replace the spark plug.

Take a look at your trees and shrubs and see if they have dead branches that could be removed to make more room for new growth.

Check your gutters. Are they clogged with the remnants of old leaves of the or the fuzzy buds that some trees shed in early spring?

This is a good time to around your house for winter damage. Look for anything on your house that may have come loose and be a place for water and/or bugs to enter.

Teach your kids a good lesson in responsibility and managing money by starting a lemonade stand with them. Not only will you get to spend time with your kids, you will be providing them with an invaluable learning experience. Make sure to stress the importance of correctly counting the money and providing correct change to the customers. After a hard days work, treat your kids to a nice cool treat like ice cream or slushies.

Start an outdoor project before the Summer heat sets in. Try installing a small stone pathway or add decorative edging to you planting beds.

If you cut down trees or shrubs try to remove the roots. Rotting wood will attract termites and carpenter ants

If you have underground sprinklers, now is a good time to test them. Make sure that all the heads are clear of debris and there are no leaks in the lines.

Spring time means time for the year's first BBQ! Check if your grill needs to be cleaned, for BBQ supplies such as charcoal or gas, your grilling utensils, etc. so that you are ready to go. Invite your friends over and enjoy a nice spring day!

Baseball starts in Spring and going to see a Spring Training game (or two) could be a a fun family trip! Spring Training takes place in Florida and Arizona so make sure to find out where your favorite teams plays.

Go fly a kite! No, literally. Spring is a great time to head out to a park and spend some time in the beautiful weather kiting.

Create an outdoor space that will allow you and a few friends to sit comfortably. It can be as simple as laying a few pavers on a flat section of ground all the way up to a building a new patio. Whichever way you go make it something easy to maintain.
