Health Tips
Exercise is key in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A twenty minute workout five days a week could be the deciding factor in whether you spend the summer at the beach or on your sofa eating chips. There are many different activities you can do such as, lifting weights, Pilates, running, jazzercise, tae bo, racquetball, swimming, etc. Try getting someone to exercise with you. This will help you stay on a steady routine and make working out more enjoyable.

Brushing your teeth is important to keep your teeth white and from having bad breath. Brushing your teeth can prevent tooth decay, plaque, cavities from forming, and gingivitis. To prevent these problems, brush twice a day, and brush in small soft circles. Floss every day, especially after eating. Signs of tooth decay and gum disease include receeding gumline, gums that bleed after flossing or brushing, shifting permanent teeth, and sensitivity in your teeth. Have a detist preform check-ups twice a year to prevent these conditions from occuring.

Diets play an even larger part in staying fit than exercising. Try cutting out fatty foods, and be aware of high-caloric foods. Sodas and junk food do not provide much nutrition are poor snack foods. Try vegetables or fruits for in-between meals to cut down on some of the junk. Be aware of fat-free foods, as they may be higher in calories and sodium, which can result in high blood pressure. Energy drinks also may be misleading. The caffeine and sugar rush will energize you, but they can also make you extremely tired after the chemicals are out of your system.

Alcohol can have many adverse affects on a person. Depending on the tolerance level, hereditary background, weight, and what you ate before drinking, these factors can manipulate the degree in which a person gets drunk. Excessive drinking can result in many health risks. Besides the obvious risk of becoming dependent on this drug, cirrhosis of the liver, brain atrophy, strokes, cancers, fetal alcohol syndrome, and pancreatitis can occur. But within these risks, alcohol can also reduce gallstones, reduce blood pressure, and reduce the chances of type II diabetes. What it comes down to is moderation, how often and how much.

DON'T SMOKE! We all know that smoking is a bad habit and we are subjected to this in our daily lives, but the consequences of inhalation are dire. Among the many major health risks:emphysema, mouth and throat cancers, and cardiovascular diseases. Smoking can discolor clothing, teeth, and fingers. Quitting smoking may be a large challenge, but take baby steps, reduce the amount of packs you smoke, reassure yourself that you don't always need a cigarette, find new habits to replace smoking, and try to stay away from places where smoking is common.

After a long, stressful day at work you may one to soak in a nice hot bubble bath. The soothing suds and the warm water will help relax your tired aching muscles and relax you as well. You can also listen to some soft music or read a good book. Also, if you have some aromatherapy candles, light a few and place them around the bathtub area.

Read something positive every day. We can often get bogged down by the worries of the world but we can't forget our mental health. If you read something positive each day, it helps you stay happy and happiness allows us to take better care of ourselves physically.

Make sure you eat three healthy meals each day. Doing this will help to keep you feeling full and satisfied during the day. This will lessen your possible consumption of high fat snacks.

Sleep is vitally important to overall health. Sleeping is when the body recovers from what you put it through during the day. It is time for all the muscles to relax and for the brain to process information. Try to get a full 8 hours of sleep at night and you will find yourself feeling much better.

Go to the doctor for your yearly checkups. No one likes doing it, but it is the best way to make sure you are remaining healthy. The yearly exams are more likely to catch something that is abnormal in the early stages. Unlike if you wait until you are miserable and you go to the doctor.

Get outside and enjoy the sunlight. Being exposed to sunlight allows your body to gain Vitamin D. However please take caution while being in the sun and wear sunscreen to help prevent skin cancer.
