For men, a good way to lessen skin irritation from shaving is to shave while in the shower, or right after. The hotter water and steam from the shower is what makes the difference.

Try to avoid touching your face if possible as this will lessen the dirt, oil and bacteria that will be on your face.

Women, if you are noticing redness or more acne then normal, don’t just try to cover it up with more makeup. Go and talk to a dermatologist because it might be the makeup that is causing the problem and they can recommend a good solution.

As tempting as it may be – try not to pop pimples. Doing so can cause scaring. Talk to a dermatologist if your regular routine is not working. Also talk to the doctor if you get a pimple right before a big event and don’t want it showing up in pictures. The doctor will be able to prescribe a treatment that will help clear the breakout up.

Ladies – remember to remove all of your makeup before going to bed at night. Give your facial skin a chance to breathe.

Wear sunscreen! Going without it may lead to a tan, but exposure to the suns dangerous rays increases the chance of skin cancer.

Invest in a good moisturizer for your skin. It is even better if you can have two – one for day that also includes a sun blocker and one for night that does not.

It is a good thing to exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation is the removal of the top layer of dead skin. This can be done using a facial scrub, mocrodermabrasion, chemical peel, or retinoid.

Smoking actually makes your skin look older because it narrows the blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow. This causes wrinkles.

Try a simple facial mask with honey. It helps clean and soothe your skin. Just apply and let it sit for about 10 min.

Dry skin? Try putting on a moisturizer right after your shower. This combined with your body's natural moisture will leaving a more lasting effect. Also, for severe dryness, try using a thicker creme instead of a lotion.

For excema sufferers, try using a hydro-cortizone cream. Remember to regard the instructions and if it doesn't clear up in a few days, consult a doctor.
